Running Wide Open Around the Internet

Today I’m being interviewed by Penny Lockwood Ehrenkranz over on One Writer’s Journey. Monday, my friend and frequent commentor, McKenzie McCann posted this review of Running Wide Open on her blog, and last week fellow author Rachele Alpine highlighted my sponsorship of Jared in this blog post. Check out these links to see what people are saying about my books and marketing.

I also have some contest news. As I mentioned on Sunday, August 1st I will be participating in a YA Scavenger Hunt coordinated by Oregon indie-turned-traditional phenom Colleen Houck. A fine cast of YA authors will be providing bonus material from their current books or upcoming releases, but you won’t find it on their personal blogs, you’ll have to hop from one to another until you get to the stuff you’re looking for. If you want to see some deleted scenes from Running Wide Open, be sure to tune in on August 1st. You’ll have a unique opportunity to be introduced to some awesome new YA authors. The hunt only lasts one day, then the post will be deleted, so be sure not to miss it.

The authors participating: YA authors Josephine Angelini, Angela Corbett, Andrea Cremer, Kady Cross, Heather Davis, Bree Despain, Clare Dunkle, Marley Gibson, Abbi Glines, Colleen Houck, Tara Hudson, Elana Johnson, Alexandra Monir, Beth Revis, Gregg Olsen, Amy Plum, Lisa and Laura Roecker, Inara Scott, Sophie Jordan, Lani Woodland and more!

If you participate in the scavenger hunt and find my bonus material, make a comment on that blog then send me an email at webfootracer at comcast dot net with the url (or blog name) of where you found it. I’ll enter you in a drawing for an ebook copy of your choice of Running Wide Open, Getting Sideways (my next book), or Alice Lynn’s upcoming novel, Scattered Pieces. What is Scattered Pieces, and why am I giving it away? Stay tuned to learn more.

The Scavenger Hunt sounds fun, I hope like most things, I don’t forget. That is so cool that you are getting out there on the web. Still dreaming for the big screen for you. (Yeah I know, no one is good enough to be Race) 🙂

Yup, I don’t think I’d be completely satisfied with any actor to play Race. I always thought that kid who played John Conner in the second Terminator movie would make a good Cody, but he’s probably about thirty by now. 🙂

Such an interesting interview! If anyone hasn’t read it, they ought to click on the link. Loved McKenzie’s review of Running Wide Open and felt that being a teen herself, her discussion was especially meaningful. To echo Angela’s thoughts; Who is cool enough (and good looking enough) to play Race?

Alice, I think McKenzie did an awesome job. You can see her analytical skills at work. It’s interesting to see someone approach my book like that, because as writers we’re never sure how we’re coming across. It’s cool to see how someone defines the layers we tried to incorporate.

Thanks, Chris. I’m trying to jump on any opportunity I can find for networking these days, but boy, is it keeping me busy. Which reminds me, I left Race and Cody in the middle of an argument …. Better get back to writing.
